About Dothex
A London consultancy of embedded engineers. Since 2019 we have helped companies turn early concepts into production-ready devices: the electronics, the firmware, the connectivity and the test systems that ship them.
Why we’re called Dothex
A .hex file holds the machine code a microcontroller runs: the final, compiled form of everything a device does. We took our name from it because that is where our work ends up, as firmware and hardware running reliably inside a product.
Who we are
Dothex was founded in London in March 2019 by Akif Turker. We are a small team of embedded engineers based in the UK, working mainly with UK companies and with clients abroad.
Akif leads the engineering. Over twelve years he has worked on products from first schematic to volume production: firmware and detection algorithms for a home safety alarm manufactured at over a million units, ATM security hardware with more than 40,000 units in the field, a wearable medical device, marine transponders and industrial monitors for power stations. He works hands-on in firmware and hardware, reviews the team’s designs and holds an MSc in mechatronics engineering.

What we take on
The whole embedded product: electronics and PCB design, firmware, connectivity and edge AI, through to production test. Mechanical design and companion mobile apps are part of our product development work, and for certification testing, tooling and volume manufacturing we bring in partners we know, so you keep one point of contact.
